In the rainforest
Our day trip from Cairns took us to Daintree - Queensland's wet tropics, where we walked under the canopy of the rainforest. The Daintree is one of the only rainforests in the world to meet the sea.
Daintree fun fact: this world heritage site covers only 0.01% of Australia's surface area but has 36% of the mammal species, 50% of the bird species and 60% of the butterfly species. Pretty amazing.
We complained constantly about the humidity.
