From Beraban we drove to the north coast to Pemuteran, where we spent three lazy days on a black sand beach. We took a day trip to Menjaran Island and were rewarded with stunning views of Java's volcanos. We went snorkeling and saw some of the best marinelife since the Great Barrier Reef. Our time in the water was limited due to the swarms of jellyfish; one slapped Kim in the face and a whole family of them induced a panic attack in Anna.

It was still a gorgeous day on the water and we had our bright blue fishing boat all to ourselves.
