Night Out In Bali

Our first afternoon in Bali we were visited by a tailor who fitted us for traditional temple clothes. Our guide Budi invited us to attend a shadow puppet ceremony in a nearby village. We were the only Westerners, and even though we didn't understand any of the words, we were entranced by the music and the entire evening including the laughing children, the men off to the side playing dice, the starry sky with flashes of lightning, and the puppet-master who seemed to have 8 arms.
We're finding that blogging is going to be a challenge from Bali, due to slow connection speed, as well as the fact that we'll be spending a lot of time in very remote areas. Be patient with us and our loyal readers will be rewarded...

dear desert dancers,
Bali sounds like it is a bit mystical and enchanting. I'll bet you find it refreshing, and peaceful. It seems the simpler people live, the less stress.
